Senior Product Designer at Fortescue Zero, with over 5 years of experience in Industrial Design and Branding.

I balance pragmatic solutions with disruptive creation; driven to be original, motivated by challenge and a desire to solve problems. Eager to fully understand the needs of a user or product, I endeavour to deliver well rounded, carefully considered designs.

 

Experience

SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER, September 2024 - Present

  • Creating concepts and photo realistic renders to bring to life new technologies and interactive spaces using Siemens NX, Solidworks and Keyshot

  • Leading the re-design of brand-aligned physical spaces such as the Technology Innovation Centre and UK Headquarters

  • Responsible for the design of immersive international exhibition spaces and motorsport garage designs for Formula E, Extreme E and World Endurance Championship

  • Developing brand-rich, bespoke assets such as a Formula E car livery

  • Creating a recognisable visual language and signature brand traits for products such as marine battery systems, control modules and DCDCs

  • Directing the alignment of the brand guidelines across corporate merchandise, product datasheets, informative and creative graphics

  • Project management of company exhibition assets, organising their distribution between global activations, partner events and the HQ sales showcase area

SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER, September 2019 - 2024

  • Managed the Creative Design Team responsible for product design across a range of sectors, including the Paralympic equipment for GB Snowsport, cameras and e-scooters

  • Contributed expertise on visual language, user interaction and component architecture to high-value engineering projects

  • Directed internal innovation projects such as the EVR vehicle platform, providing ergonomic feedback and visual design of the cockpit and bodywork

  • Re-designed and launched new brand identities connecting physical assets to exhibition stands, creating a unified appearance

  • Internal and external key stakeholder management; developing presentations and delivering proposals for both prospective leads, current clients and senior leadership

engineering PLACEMENT, June 2016 – August 2016

  • Identified and supported the rectification of manufacturing faults at Plant Oxford as well as vehicles delivered across America and Asia

  • Trend analysis and reporting to improve manufacturing efficiency with recommendations presented to department heads

  • Root-cause analysis of larger and reoccurring faults through inspections of the production line or vehicle components

  • Developing recommendations for manufacturing process, including factory operational changes and the re-design of parts

 

EDUCATION

1st Class (Hons)

  • Learning the fundamentals of Industrial Design, as well as gaining key automotive skills such as proportions, packaging, rendering and clay modelling

  • Working on weekly projects with the engineering students collaboratively on a wide range of briefs

  • My course culminated with an automotive dissertation and project around a modular SUV

  • Working in a multi-national group to develop real world solutions for a range of real-life companies design briefs through the perspective of ‘Co Designing’ with the client, from concept all the way to implementation

  • Studying courses on Change Management, Innovation, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility

  • Honing my Art, Graphic and Product Design skills, ensuring I had the best possible understanding of form, function and user experience. To back up my design studies, I also took Physics in order to have a deeper understanding in engineering, materials and mathematics - ensuring my ideas were always viable

  • Completed ‘Land’s End to John o’Groats’ in 2019 raising money for Parkinsons UK

  • Awarded ‘Certificate of Excellence’, winner of Aston Design Week 2018, for my modular living accommodation proposal

  • University Academic Course Representative, working with the academic staff to improve university life for students

  • Ran ‘5in5’ - five marathons in five days raising £40,000 for Click Sargent in 2014

  • 4 years as lead bass drummer with Dollar Academy Pipe Band, winners of the 2014 World & European Championships

  • for which I received Cultural Colours for my contribution
